Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has vowed to punish its leaders who do not participate in the ongoing demonstrations against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
A good number of ODM leaders, including Secretary General Ababu Namwamba, have given the demos a wide birth ever since they were launched four weeks ago.
Speaking yesterday, ODM officials led by Kisumu Senator Prof. Peter Anyang' Nyong'o, vowed to do the unthinkable to those who will boycott the anti-IEBC demos, which includes chasing them from the party or barring them from future political activities of the party.
The Kisumu Senator noted that they are drafting a proposal to be handed over to ODM headquarters to make the anti-IEBC protests a compulsory exercise in Opposition strongholds.
