Addressing a Press Conference at Capitol Hill offices on Wednesday, Siaya Senator, James Orengo, said the coalition has suspended the weekly demos and has given the Jubilee Government two weeks to convene a meeting to resolve the IEBC impasse.
Orengo said next week CORD principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula will pursue peace and justice through prayers, condole with the bereaved and comfort the wounded.
Sources within ODM said Raila Odinga suspended the demos after realising that his own people are the only one dying in his violent demos.
“He was angry with the killing of 3 CORD protesters and that is why he has resolved to give dialogue a chance,” the source said.
However, the Jubilee Government has maintained that it is ready for dialogue with the opposition on the fate of IEBC but it must be within the constitution frame work.
