Sotik MP, Dr Joyce Laboso, has accused Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto, of using County funds to campaign in Kericho County to push for KANU candidate, Paul Sang.

Speaking in Kericho Teachers Training College during celebrations for the newly-elected Jubilee Senator, Aaron Cheruiyot, Dr Laboso claimed that the Bomet Governor used public County funds to support the recent by-election campaign in Kericho.

Though she didn’t specify the amount of money that Governor Ruto allegedly used in the by-election, the outspoken MP said the governor would be made to account for any single shilling lost in Bomet County.

“There is no money left in Bomet for development since the Governor used all the money we had in the Kericho campaigns. We will look into this matter and ensure that accountability is upheld. Public money must be used in a prudent manner as envisaged by the law,” Laboso said.

She also asked Bomet residents to vote out Governor Ruto in 2017 terming him an embarrassment to Bomet residents.
