As a member of the Kenya founding team; to launch, lead and grow a fast growing higher education technology and services startup in East Africa. Responsible for ensuring a high quality supply of coaches available to guide students through their classes by implementing scalable certification and retention systems and structures.
Coaches are subject matter experts, certified by University Network to coach University classes.

• can build a friendly relationship with a wide variety of people;
• can communicate complex ideas in clear and simple language;
• have impeccable follow-through; and
• own, and are comfortable with, an Android smartphone
OUTCOMES
In partnership with the SVP of Global Coaching Network and the Director of Coaching Kenya, ensure robust coaching corps so that all students have at least 3 available, coaches to choose from at any time.
• 72 FTE (approximately 142 people) coaches certified by December 31st 2016
• Develop models that predict number of coaches needed per month per certification area based on student enrollment, class completion projections, and coach turnover; breakdown into weekly and monthly lead and conversion targets; track actuals to targets
• Track average coach earnings per month and per student and make recommendations when coach compensation or financial incentives need to be increased to drive increases in coach supply
• Prepare weekly reports using data from the applicant tracking system to track coach leads and conversion rates against targets
• For every month, work with the Director of Coaching to plan and execute weekly recruitment activities to deliver against targets.
• Measure the effectiveness of recruitment channels and use analysis to inform future recruitment activities and spending
• Manage coach recruitment budget and track cost of coach acquisition
• Coordinate the production of any needed marketing collateral
• Manage communication to coach leads and applicants using Recruiterbox; ensure all leads and applicants experience timely and professional communication.
• When necessary, support members of the outreach team in the execution of coach recruitment events.
Ensure high quality coach supply
• Build weekly reports that analyze coach to student response time and coach ratings
• Analyze coach rating data against coach certification data to refine coach certification criteria and process
• Analyze student and coach quantitative and qualitative data to identify needed training for coaches.
• Build strong relationships and communication processes with the product team and the program team, providing continual feedback to improve the coaching and student experience
• Analyze coach retention patterns, identify drivers and propose strategies for retaining high performing coaches
In partnership with the SVP of Global Coaching Network and the Director of Coaching Kenya, develop and refine coach operations strategy including recruitment, certification, and maintenance of sufficient number of high quality coaches.
• Produce a coaching operations strategy document including input from SVP of Global Coaching, Director of Coaching and Country Manager, by March 31st.
• On a bi-monthly basis, review tactics, action plans and reports to ensure they are all aligned to the agreed coaching operations strategy.
By June 30, in partnership with the SVP of Global Coaching Network, and the Director of Coaching Kenya, develop short-term and long-term learning agenda so that real-time learning from coaches informs product development; course development; coach recruitment, selection and retention; and student retention.
• Build strong relationships and communication processes with the product team and the academic team, providing continual feedback to improve the coaching and student experience
• In partnership with product team, collaborate with UX lab in Nairobi to ensure high quality coach user experience.
