Speaking yesterday, NCIC Vice Chairperson, Irene Wanyoike, called on the Government to involve the commission in the process of clearing politicians seeking to run for political offices in 2017.
Wanyoike wants the commission to be allowed to vet aspirants to ensure those spewing hate and incitement do not qualify to run for office.
She warned that if hate mongers like Kuria, Muthama, Kalonzo and Waititu among others are not barred from vying, 2017 could be chaotic.
“The 2017 political exercise is toxic. We feel that NCIC and other relevant bodies should clear politicians before they vie. This will automatically lock out those already charged with hate speech,” she said.
Kalonzo joined the list of hate mongers after he discriminated against a QTV journalist for being a Kikuyu and has since been spewing hate and inciting CORD supporters against Jubilee.
