Team Leader Accounts Payable Jobs at CFC Stanbic Bank, Kenya

Job Purpose

• Responsible for the management of the Group’s Accounts Payable (AP) function.
• Ensure strict adherence to vendor credit terms to avoid disruption of services to the Group entities.
• Drive process and systems-based improvements and introduce ways to make the AP process more efficient and transparent.

Accounts Payable Job Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities in Kenya

• Lead and Guide Accounts Payable (AP) Team including performance management, month end close, decision making, process improvements and issue resolution.
• Track and report on key metrics to ensure compliance with AP service level agreements.
• Manage the invoice tracking process and have visibility of the status of invoices received in the Bank.
• Manage supplier and customer relationships and processes and track vendor payment related queries and ensure closure.
• Ensure processing of all transactions is in adherence to the department policies and procedures and in compliance with internal controls.
• Monitor compliance to the authorisation policy and limits and levels of approval.
• Management and resolution of AP-related system interface issues.
• Managing the closing accounts payable ledger in accordance with the month end/quarter end close timetable.
• Compile various reports for management reporting as required.
• Provide overall strategic planning, team development, and business process efficiency to the team.
• Develop and grow the AP staff by supporting relevant training interventions and by ensuring that the team is motivated and developed.
• Guide the AP team in setting clear performance goals and objectives and monitor and provide regular feedback to ensure that the team members meet the set goals.
• Flexibility to perform any other ad hoc analysis, special projects, and duties as may be assigned.

Preferred Qualification and Experience for Accounts Payable Jobs in Kenya

• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/Finance)
ACCA/CPA (K)
• 5 years working experience, preferably within the banking industry
Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise
• Working experience of SAP and T24 is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential – to enable dealing with stakeholders at all levels
